WORKS IN PROGRESS is a Hunter IMA MFA student-organized gathering that meets once a month. It’s a low-pressure opportunity to connect and mingle with fellow IMA students, share work or ideas at any stage, and get feedback from peers outside of classes.
RSVP for this semester’s gatherings on Wednesdays October 15th and November 19th from 6-9pm.
Works-in-progress can take a variety of forms. When we say “work in any stage,” it includes everything from early ideas/concepts to refined projects—whether they’ve been in development for a long time or they are still in their infancy. It includes projects undertaken both within and outside of classes. Each presenter has roughly 15-20 minutes to share and receive feedback. Whether you want to present a work-in-progress or you just want to listen and and see what others are working on, all IMA students are welcome as well as friends of the program and prospective students.
IMA students Shira Golden and PJ Rountree started WORKS-IN-PROGRESS in 2023 and they co-produce the series with creative, tech and hosting support by IMA students Sabeena Singhani, Celeste Newcomb, Zoha Javaid Akhter, Azia Egbe, Lisa Draho and graphic design by A.J. Cincotta-Eichenfield and Shira Golden.
