IMA/MFA courses, events, and offices are located on the fourth and fifth floor of the North Building of Hunter College main campus in the Department of Film and Media Studies.

Visiting the IMA Program
If you are a guest of the IMA Program, (i.e. if you have registered for a screening, are a visiting instructor, or a prospective student who has met with the Program Coordinator and are visiting a class), you will need to pick up a guest pass at the Hunter Visitors Center.
The Visitors Center is in the lobby of the Hunter West building which is the main Hunter building at 68th Street and Lexington, on the SW corner (#1 on map below). It has a large entrance to the 6 subway train out front. Show the Visitors Center some sort of photo ID to get a visitors sticker.
Then exit that building and walk across the street to the North Building (#2 on map below). Once you’re in the North Building, you can make your way to the elevators or stairs. Then, use one of the maps above to find your way to your classroom on the 4th or 5th floor.
For instance, if you were going to a class in HN543 (The Black Box Theater), where many of our classes are held, you’d take the North Building elevators up to the 5th floor, take a left, walk to the end of the hall. Then, take a right and walk to the end of the hall past the red lockers and almost to the stairs. Then take a right— the Black Box will be right there.
