IMA student screening film about ‘Cop City’ at Light Industry

IMA student Lev Omelchenko’s film Beneath the Concrete, The Forest which was made in IMA class, Microcultural Incidents is screening on February 16th at 7:30PM at Light Industry in Brooklyn. The short will be followed by a screening of Sierra Pettengill’s feature film “Riotsville, USA”

Beneath the Concrete, The Forest is a short experimental documentary about the “Defend the Atlanta Forest Movement ” to “Stop Cop City ” After the screening, there will be a teach-in via Zoom by the scholar Sasha Tycko and Marlon Kautz, of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund. All proceeds from this event will go to the ASF, who are organizing a legal defense for the arrested forest defenders facing domestic terrorism charges, as well as conducting an independent investigation into the police murder of the activist Tortuguita.
