IMA alum Esy Casey is included in a group show at Wassaic Project with a 2 channel video project called, A Movement Against the Transparency of the Stars of the Seas. The group show is titled, No Misery Can Tell, No Word of Farewell and it runs from December 3, 2022 to March 18, 2023

Work by : Clint Baclawski, Richard Barlow, Esy Casey, Raul De Lara, Eric Garcia, Ambrus Gero, Kate Johnson, Cate Pasquarelli, Lauren Phillips, Farwah Rizvi, Christina Hunt Wood, Curated by Eve Biddle, Bowie Zunino, Jeff Barnett-Winsby, and Will Hutnick

About the project from Esy’s site: “A contemplation on the meanings of movement in the migration experience: the grace and skill of a Filipina domestic worker are juxtaposed with devotional dances to the Santo Niño statue that Magellan brought to the islands in 1521. The ensuing galleon trade of silk and porcelain for New World silver initiated the global economy, and the cycle where female care labor is now the commodity in demand. Supported by a NYSCA Individual Artist grant, The Creative Work Fund, Filipino Advocates for Justice, The Princess Grace Foundation USA, The Asian Womens’ Giving Circle, and the Ms. Foundation.”
