Amber Bemak is a filmmaker, artist, and educator. In support of her feature film (currently in postproduction) Cosmic Moose and Grizzly Bears Ville, she received a 2023 Guggenheim Fellowship, a 2025 Creative Capital Award, a 2025 LEF postproduction grant, and a 2025 Yaddo artist residency. Her creative work centers around experimental and documentary film/performance, and community-based collaborative media projects. She has collaborated with women activists across Kenya, India, Nepal, and Tibetan refugee communities in Dharamsala on participatory film projects addressing seed saving, indigenous land rights, and community-run systems.
