IMA 48-Hour Narrative Challenge

Kickoff is on Friday night March 1st at Hunter College during WORKS IN PROGRESS (6-9pm) 

Projects are due at 3pm on Sunday March 3rd and then shared with a Q&A and party at Starr Bar in Bushwick Brooklyn on Sunday March 3rd 5-8pm 

Projects can be film (fiction, nonfiction, animation, experimental), audio only, recorded performance and approx 2-10min RT

The Narrative Challenge is an opportunity to make something with people you may or may know yet in the program, share skills/ideas, collaborate and work with creative limitation prompts.

:::  SCHEDULE :::

Friday March 1  – Evening- Kickoff! @ Hunter 

During the WORKS-IN-PROGRESS gathering that evening, we’ll have the kickoff for the Narrative Challenge, wherein:

   – Groups will be announced

   – Gear will be borrowed (Canon C100 + audio recorder)

   – short tutorials/brushing up on gear can happen

   – Prompts are announced that have to be incorporated in the project in some way

   – Connect with your collaborators to hash out a plan

Saturday March 2 – produce the project together and if time – some editing

Sunday March 3 – finish the project, edit! dropbox / transfer / send your project to me by 3pm!   

From 5-8pm on March 3 – Public screening of the projects in the event space at Starr Bar in Bushwick (214 Starr Street, Brooklyn) Food + beverage for purchase at the bar. Invite friends!

A Q&A with each group. It will be exciting to experience each project, hear how the process went, and see how the creative prompts were used by each group.
