IMA alumni Samara Smith and Laura Chipley have been selected for LMCC’s 2025 Arts Center Residency at Governors Island and exploring the historical ecology of New York harbor alongside a cohort of 18 other artists/collaboratives.

IMA alum Pam Sporn’s film Cuban Roots/Bronx Stories will be screening at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture Centennial Event on Sept. 24.

IMA alum Alice Arnold’s documentary film SoHo in Flux: Art, Real Estate and the Housing Crisis received a 2025 Graham Foundation Grant. The film tells SoHo’s story of transforming cultural capital into real estate capital.

IMA alum Jess Shane’s podcast series Shocking, Heartbreaking, Transformative is on The New York Times 2024 top ten best podcast list. The first two episodes were part of her IMA thesis project. The New York Times calls it a “dizzying and dazzling deconstruction of the documentary industrial complex.”
