IMA alumni Samara Smith and Laura Chipley will present their project Virtual Aquapolis and the Transformation of New York Harbor on Wednesday, November 12 at 2:30PM | Roosevelt House at Hunter College
Virtual Aquapolis is an immersive VR environment that examines the transformation of New York Harbor over 500 years, from a biodiverse maze of marshlands, reefs, and estuaries to the complex urban waterways of 21st-century New York City. Designed for presentation in exhibition settings and public spaces, Virtual Aquapolis reveals New York harbor as a dynamic ecological and cultural crossroads and offers a novel perspective to reflect on our inextricable connection to the ecosystems we inhabit, and our collective role in shaping the harbor’s future through policy and preservation.
Free snacks will be provided!
