Full Course Description:

This course introduces IMA students to the subject of color in visual art and media from antiquity through the present. We use an interdisciplinary approach rooted in aesthetics, visual studies, art therapy, design studies, and phenomenology. Through descriptive writing, responses to critical texts, and subjective encounters with color in art and culture, students learn the fundamental properties of color in art and design.
